Well, I have done a horrible job lately keeping up to date with the blog. I'm going to try to do a lot better. I do have some exciting to news to share..... Stephen, Carly and I went to the doctor on Monday to see if we're having a boy or a girl!!! I am very glad to say that we are having another little girl!!!! We are all so excited and it seems to have made this whole pregnancy REAL for Carly!!! I think she's actually starting to realize that there is really a baby on its way!!! I'm sure there are many things to share that have happened over the past month so I will try to catch everybody up with a post later in the week!!!

Well, our family got an unexpected Christmas present..... My brother and his wife had baby David on CHRISTMAS DAY!!!!!!!! He wasn't due until the middle of January, but he still weighed in at a whopping 8lbs 15oz. What a wonderful present. We've been really busy lately, so I'll be sure to post some pictures of David along with Christmas pictures soon!!!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at my cousin Laurie's house. It is always so much fun to get together with the "Webster Family". Although there is always a lot of eating going on, there is no doubt that there is more laughing going on. We're so blessed to have such a fun and loving family. We had a shower for Jimmie and Baby David at my house a couple of weeks ago! They got so many wonderful things. I will say the most popular gift of choice was the Boudreaux Buttpaste! I think every gift came with a tube of this stuff. We are counting down the days until David gets here and I am soooo excited to finally get to see my new little nephew!!!!

Bama Beauties

Valerie is loving the fact that the Alabama football team is NUMBER 1 in the country. Many of you might know that black and white houndstooth is as much of a signature color for Bama Football as crimson and white. Valerie got Carly this cute houndstooth outfit and Valerie wore her's too. Carly calls this outfit her "BAMA CLOTHES". I think she'd cheer for any team as long as a new outfit was involved. It has become very obvious that Carly is about as prissy as they come and she has little interest in sports, although she is trying. As we were watching the Bama football game lastnight, I heard Carly at one point saying "Go Red Soxs Go"....I guess as long as she is cheering it's a good thing, even if it's for a team that's not playing.

Party for Shelly & Allen

There was a shower for Shelly and Allen at our house this weekend. It was so much fun getting to catch up with old friends and getting a chance to visit with everyone. I think it's so funny how when there are parties these days the children are the main entertainment. Carly loved getting to show everyone her rooms and sharing all of her toys with the other kids. Congratulations to Allen and Shelly...the are a precious couple.

Carly had school pictures on Friday and before we left for school I took a couple of pictures of her. I got a picture of her and Stephen and I LOVE IT!!!!! When I look at the picture it's hard for me to think that Carly is only 3 years old. She looks so grown up in this picture.

Halloween with Caleb

We went to the Witcher's for Halloween dinner and trick-or-treating. We had a great time and as always Carly and Caleb loved playing together. They were so cute trick-or-treating. Caleb (aka Jack Sparrow) is so funny and outgoing. I think he made a new friend at every house they went to.

Many of you already know, but I was waiting to post anything until we went to the doctor.......I am pregnant. I am just about 8 weeks. We are all very excited. Carly is going to make a great big sister. She has let it be known that she wants a girl, but she thinks it's going to be a boy. It's going to be a fun pregnancy with Carly putting her input in. When we first told her I asked her what big sisters do and her response was "They yell 'Get out of my room'". I think we're in for a real treat here. Here's the first pic of our new family member:

Greer's Fabulous Party

We went to Greer's birthday party on Saturday and it was FABULOUS!!!! Carly had such a great time. There were so many fun things to do including a petting zoo, pony ride, pumpkin decorating, cookie decorating and CANDY EATTING!!!!! The carnival theme was wonderful and all of the kids looked so cute in their costumes!!! We wish Greer a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY and want to thank her for letting us be a part of her special day...Here are some pictures from the party...

A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Motley Pumpkin Patch today and it was fun for everyone. The patch we went to last year closed, so we tried a new one this year. We really liked it. It was perfect for children. They had a few animals that kids could pet, a hayride, a hay maze and the "famous" pig races. I would recommed this pumpkin patch to everyone. There were not very many pumkins to choose from, but all kids under 12 got a free pumpkin. Carly said her favorite part was the hayride. Carly is really looking forward to Halloween this year and she has decided that she is going to be "Sleeping Booty". It is so cute when she says that....I can't bring myself to start correcting her!!!!

We went to Oklahoma City this weekend for a wedding. Carly did very good in the car and we had a great time. The wedding was BEAUTIFUL (I left my camera in the hotel room) and Carly, Mamaw, Elizabeth and Daddy all danced at the wedding.

Before we left we stopped by the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial. It was touching and I thought everything was so well thought out. If anyone is ever in Oklahoma City, then it's a must to stop by and see this memorial.

Tea Party in Helena

We went to Helena this weekend to visit with family and for Stephen to play in a golf tournament with my uncle and cousin. As usual we had a wonderful time. Aunt Peggy, Carly & I had a couple of tea parties. I forgot my camera, but I did get a couple of pictures with my phone.

We love the Razorbacks and the Charging Wildcats!!!!! NLR had their first home game lastnight and they looked GREAT!!!!! We beat Texarkana 17-0. I have to say that Carly was the cutest fan of them all. I made this cute little tutu in Charging Wildcat colors and she was "oohed and ahhed" all night long.
I made another tutu for her for the Razorback game today. Although she is not going with us to the game, she will be too cute cheering them on at Mimi & Buddy's house.

I decided today that I was done trying to let Carly's hair grow out. If you've seen her lately then you understand why. Her bangs refused to cooperate and had gotten totally out of control. As I was cutting her hair she was excited and laughing as she saw her hair fall to the floor.....the excitement and laughter ended when she looked in the mirror. I can say that Carly had the biggest break down of her 3 and a half year life. She was hysterical. All she would say was I need to go to bed. She got on the bed sobbing and covering her head with the sheets. Between gasps for air she would say "I didn't want hair like this". I felt horrible. After about 20 minutes of crying I finally got her to take a bath and I was able to show her what it would look like when it was dried. I have to say that I think it's absolutely ADORABLE!!!! When she looks in the mirror she will still whimper, but I think it will just take some getting use to.

OK, so I've been slacking on posting updates....I'm back and in action...There's not been a lot going on since my last post except for the fact that the 2008-2009 school year has started. I think that this summer went by WAY TOO FAST!!! As Carly gets older it seems to get harder and harder to go back to work in August!!! Carly has moved to a new class and the first day was a bit rough for her, but she seems to have already adjusted well. I know that the following picture isn't real clear, but it was such the highlight in my day when Stephen sent it to me.....

If you have talk to Stephen and I within the past 3-4 days, I'm sure that we have brought up the fact that Carly is now sleeping in her own "BIG GIRL BED"!!!!! We are so excited....I found myself telling a checker at the grocery store and at Target that Carly is sleeping in her own bed...They were both telling her how proud they are of her...(They probably have kids sleeping in their bed and understand why I am so excited.)I think the biggest hurdle we had was the fact that there was NO bed in Carly's room...it seems that all we had to do was put a bed in there and she was ready to sleep in it. OK, it wasn't that easy.... I had to do a lot of bribing the first night (donuts, ice-cream, a pink car, a trip to the beach, new decorations in her room) to get Carly to lay down. Now I'm trying to go back and give her the bribes that I promised. She got donuts the next morning and today she got new room decorations. We're still working on the remaining things. Here's some pictures from her room. The murals on the wall are not new, but I love them so much that I went ahead and took pictures of them too.

Nevis, West Indies

Stephen and I just spent a week on what we believe may be the most beautiful beach on earth!!!! We went to Nevis, which is located next to St.Kitts. We stayed at the wonderful Four Seasons Resort. We both agree that this was the best "incentive" trip yet. The resort was awesome and the food was great. Stephen played golf (while monkeys watched from the trees) and I had a very relaxing massage. We went into town one day, but there was nothing exciting there. Here are a few of my favorite pictures. I'm sure I'll add more later.

We had a great 4th of July. Carly was in a parade at school on Thursday and then we headed to the lake on Friday. While we were at the lake we had a "Tri-Birthday Party"....We celebrated Allan's, Valerie's and Elizabeth's Birthdays!!!!

The neighbors down the street had a mini fireworks show...Let's just say that they were obviously not professionals and we're luck that everybody lived through the show. I'm not exactly sure how it was...I got too nervous halfway through and took Carly back to the house. I'm extremely scared of fireworks!!!! Here are the two pictures that I was able to get.

Growin' Up Too Fast

If I've said it once I've said it a MILLION times lately....Carly is growing up too fast. It seems like everytime I turn around she has done something that reminds me that she will not stay little forever. I had one of those moments today and I was able to take a picture of it. Carly loves using sidewalk chalk on the walkway leading up to our house. Today she was drawing and Stephen told her to draw a smiley face. In the past her smiley faces consisted of a bunch of straight lines everywhere. NOT TODAY.....Carly made a perfect little smiley face.(Well, actually it looks like a sad face with a tear, but she gets an "A" for effort.) Let's just throw artist into the mix of different careers that she can do!!!!

Strikes, Spares, & Gutter Balls

Carly thought that the only way to bowl was on the Nintendo Wii, but we showed her what it was like to go to a real bowling alley. She thought it was "SO COOL". She was the best cheerleader. When we would leave some pins up (or in my case a lot of pins up) Carly would cheers us on by yelling out "you almost did it, good try". Stephen let Carly bowl with him a couple of times, but I don't think that was her favorite part. She actually loved laughing at Stephen and me in the "silly shoes".

Stephen is very strict about Carly not having caffeine and she LOVES Cokes (I sneak her some a bit). Well, the Sprite was not working at the bowling alley and Carly came running up to me telling me that Daddy got her a Coke. I couldn't believe it. When I took a sip of her coke I realized it was actually Root Beer (caffeine free). Look at her face in this picture....she actually thinks she is drinking coke and even if it tasted different she wasn't going to say a word because she finally got a "COKE" from Daddy.

Yesterday was our friend Bill's birthday and we celebrated it at the ballpark. Bill's girlfriend has a box, so we watched the game from there. It was really neat and we had a great time....It was a beautiful night.

Mommy and Carly Days

As many of you know I decided last year to go back to school to get my masters in Special Education. Well I am taking a summer school class and one of the requirements of the class is to do 6 hours of field experience. Yesterday I did my first day of field experience at Arkansas Children's Hospital. We toured the neonatal intensive care unit and visited with the people in the Child Life department. While I was there I had an overwhelming feeling of being blessed. I couldn't imagine being a parent with a child that was having to spend days, months, and even years in a hosptital. All I have wanted to do is hug Carly and not let her go. Today she stayed home with me and we played with her new pool. I am starting to think that this summer is going to be full of Mommy and Carly days!!!!!

New Group of Girls!!!!!

It seems like just yesterday that I posted a picture of my 2007-2008 dance team. Now it's already time to let everyone see my 2008-2009 dance team. I have been REALLY impressed by these girls. We made it through our first day of camp today with a minimum amount of moans and groans. I hope that these positive attitudes last for the rest of the year. It's hard to believe that my first group of girls have just completed their first year of college.......wow, I'm starting to feel a bit old.

Dance Recital

Carly had her dance recital today. Yesterday at the rehearsal she stood on the stage and refused to move. She said that her feet were hurting, so we went and got new tap shoes. That seemed to work, because today at the recital she did a great job. You could tell that she trying hard because her tongue was sticking out the entire time.

As you can tell from past posts that Carly is a star often at school. This past week she made it to the Shimmering Star level. This is the highest level and there were only 4 other students in the school that made it to this level. Obviously, we are SOOOOO proud of Carly. Mrs.Kay, Carly's teacher, has retired and I am anxious to see how Carly does with another teacher. Hopefully our star days are not over.

It probably has a lot to do with the weather, but Carly has developed curly hair. Where it came from, I do not know. It's mainly just the hair around her face and its extremely curly. I think these pictures show them the best!!!

Memorial Weekend

We went to the lake for Memorial Weekend. We had a great time. Stephen's cousin Brian brought up 75 pounds of crawfish and we ended up having a crawfish boil on Sunday night. The girls were left to take care of the crawfish while the guys played in their annual "Higden Cup" golf tournament. This means we had to keep them alive.....at one point we got a bit worried because the crawfish started to look a bit rough, but we were able to do our part and the guys got back and did their part!!!! I think everyone really enjoyed themselves. There were a lot of people there and it was fun getting to visit with everyone.

BABY HARMS

Our friends Lori and Shaun had their first baby on Thursday. James Michael was born 5 weeks early and still weighed 7lbs 7ozs. His hands and feet are huge and I couldn't believe how long his fingers are...we all agreed that he's going to be tall. He is absolutely ADORABLE and as healthy as can be.

My Mother's Day Surprise!!!

I woke up this morning to....BREAKFAST IN BED!!!!! Stephen got up early, went to the store and made me breakfast. It was a wonderful surprise. I also had beautiful flowers.

I have been wanting a specific pair of shoes and I got them as my "official" Mother's Day present.

I am so thankful for a child, who in all reality, makes being a mother SOOOO easy. Carly is a very mild mannnered, calm child who is well behaved.(90% of the time.) Thank you Daddy and Carly for a wonderful Mother's Day

NLRHS Dance Workshop

Carly participated in a dance workshop that Mrs.Pitts and the NLR Dance Troupe classes put on. It is a workshop for preschool and elementary age students. Carly was probably the youngest participant, but she had a blast!!!!! She didn't do much dancing but she did jump around a lot and spin in circles. Each participant had a "big buddy" that worked with them all day. Carly's big buddy was one of my old students and she was sooooo patient with Carly. Carly will be performing next Saturday in the school's Dance Show. Im starting to understand the time it takes to have a child that "takes dance". Carly has a dress rehearsal for the Dance Show on Wed. of this week and then pictures for her recital (for the dance studio she takes at) on Thursday and then the Dance Show next Saturday!!!! Stephen and I don't mind a bit.....seeing her have fun is worth every minute!!!!!

Stephen Makes Sushi

Stephen and I love to eat sushi. Stephen has been wanting to make his own sushi and tonight he finally did. It was really good and Carly even tried it. Mimi, don't worry....there was nothing RAW in it. It was made with cooked shrimp.

High School Musical on Ice

We took Carly to High School Musical on Ice today. It was really neat. We have never been to anything like this and didn't know what to expect. I think that I've been more excited about it than Carly, but when we got their Carly got so excited. Carly is a big High School Musical fan and can sing along with the songs. Stephen went also and I have to say that he was one of only a few Dad's there. I think he thought it was pretty cool too.

Travelers Game

We went to the Travelers game lastnight and met up with The Williams, Melissa and Arlette. It was a beautiful night and the game was as packed as we'd ever seen it. We are excited that baseball season is here and can't wait to go back to another game.

Carly got to go to the movies on Saturday with Grandma and Robert!!!! They went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. The report was she was good. Carly has told me several times "you can't talk in the movies, you have to whisper". Believe it or not they were able to stay for the whole movie. Carly has talked about it nonstop and she likes to tell people that her favorite chipmunk is the one in the blue shirt and glasses.(Simon) That does not surprise us at all. She has a huge obsession with glasses. I will definitely be on the look out for a "Simon" doll. Now that she's gotten one movie under her belt we will be looking for another one to go to. THANK YOU GRANDMA AND ROBERT FOR GIVING CARLY SUCH A FUN MEMORY!!!!!!!

Whitney's Wedding

Whitney and Corey got married today!! Of course she was a beautiful bride and everything was wonderful. I loved being able to see people that I haven't seen in a while. Carly has been just devistated since....She has asked me at least 25 times why I was trying to hold hands with a "boy" (my partner in the wedding). She has been showing everybody how her momma was walking with a boy. There was the neatest thing at the reception. There was a photo booth that you would take your picture in and then they would print out right then. Everyone put one picture and a message in a scrapbook for the couple. FUN IN THE SNOW

We had fun playing in the snow today. We made a princess snowwoman and then snow ice cream. Carly had fun making the ice cream, but Im sorry to report that it tasted HORRIBLE. I don't think it was due to Carly's cooking skills, it had more to do with the air not being as pure as when we were children. We were glad to come inside, cuddle and drink hot chocolate.

Well, today is Carly's "REAL" Birthday. She was going to have a birthday party at her school today, but we had a SNOW DAY!!!! We have postponed it until Monday. Carly was really excited about giving cupcakes to all of her friends, but she doesnt mind a fun day in the snow. She got to eat a Hostess cupcake for breakfast to celebrate her big day. As I ran to get the camera, Belle (our boxer) ran over and grabbed the cupcake. Thank goodness we had a box full of them!

Carly got a Barbie Bike for her birthday. Its actually more like a Hot Wheels, but we're calling it a bike. She also got a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads. She's really good at riding it. Once her legs get a little longer she'll be even better.

Carly's Birthday Party

We had Carly's birthday party at JumpZone this weekend. This was our first time to go there and it was so much fun. At first Carly was scared of all the inflatable things but once her cousin Jack came she decided to give it a try. When it was time to leave she cried because she wanted to stay and play longer. Carly's actual birthday is March 7th and it is so hard to believe that she is growing up so fast!!!

Carly was a star at school again today. This time it was "Sparkling Star"....She got to get her face painted so that was exciting!!!! Once again we are SOOOOO proud of her. Thanks Mom and Grandma for coming to watch the Star Ceremony!!!!!

New Year's in Dallas and the Cotton Bowl

Stephen, Melissa, Hope and myself headed down to Dallas to spend New Year's Eve and go to the Cotton Bowl. We had a great time. We came back with plenty of stories to share with everyone...Here's a condensed version....Getting into Stephen's car leaving for Dallas to realize that he left his satellite radio on and his car wont start, Stephen earning the nickname "Eagle-Eye Phaup", Spotting every Starbucks between here and Dallas, riding in a taxi with a driver that was throwing a "Party in the Car", Getting in a traffic jam before the game where we realized that our car was about to run out of gas, finding a gas station in a neighborhood that had a man standing outside with a gun (we're hoping he was a security guard)and Stephen getting cursed out at the gas station by a local....I will have to fill in everyone on the details..but like I said we had a great time. We did a lot of hog calling and fight song singing...but we couldn't pull our guys through....It was very much worth it as we made many memories to talk about for years to come!!!! Here's a few Apictures of us before we went out on New Year's Eve.

We had a wonderful Christmas....Santa was good to all of us!!!

The Phaup's, Webster's, McLean's, Witcher's and Runsick's all ate lunch over at Valerie's House.....

Then we went to Mimi and Buddy's...Uncle John and Aunt Jimmie gave Carly a Hannah Montana dance kit that came with this wig....

We had our Christmas/Birthday Party with the Webster Family on Saturday. As usual we had lots of fun. It was my Uncle Jimmy's birthday and my dad's birthday is Monday!!

Dance Recital

Carly had her first dance recital Friday night. She did great!!! I don't know what happened to our "little shy girl"...she has turned into a complete ham. Here she is "warming up" with her friend Macey.

HANNAH MONTANNA

We have been counting down the days until HANNAH MONTANNA....TODAY WAS THE DAY!!!! Mimi, Carly and I went to the concert. This was Carly's first concert and she has been very excited about it. Our seats were GREAT...we were on the floor on row 26 on the isle....We couldn't have gotten luckier. When the opening act (Jonas Brothers) got on stage Carly was not impressed and told us that she needed to go find Buddy..(who was at home).....BUT when Hannah Montanna got on stage, Carly had a blast. I got the cutest video of Carly standing in her chair dancing her heart out!!! For some reason halfway through the show Carly decided that she needed to wear Mimi's sunglasses...of course we let her and she looked too "COOL"!!! We were so lucky to get tickets....THANK YOU DADDY for standing in line for us!!!! Needless to say we are all exhausted now....I hope I can figure out how to download the video from my camera to the blog....the video is a must see. Hopefully the pictures show you what a fun time we had!!!!

Carly and Stephen carved a pumpkin together. I dont know who had more fun! Stephen did a really good drawing the pumpkin face and then cutting it out. I didn't get picture of the final project but it was really cute!

Carly was a Superstar at her school last month. She was the first one in her class to be the "Superstar". We were so proud of her. She has to be very good and helpful in class and when she is she her teachers give her a sticker to put on her chart. (She is holding the chart in the pictures.) Once the chart is full then she is the superstar. At the superstar ceremony all of the kids line the hallway and they sing and cheer for the superstars. It is sooooo cute. I didnt know how Carly would react to all of the attention, but she did GREAT!!! Mimi came to see Carly's ceremony....Thanks Mimi for sharing that fun time with us. Carly has already begun working on her 2nd chart.....hopefully we will be able to share picture from the next ceremony soon!!!!!!

Trip to Santa Barbara

Stephen and I had a WONDERFUL time in Santa Barbara. The weather was beautiful. We took 2 cameras and BOTH broke, so I don't have as many pics as I would like. We spent a lot of time at the beach, Stephen played golf and we went to a vineyard!!!! We got a chance to eat spectacular food and the hotel pampered us!!!! We missed Carly and were really excited to see her!!!!!

I went with a group of girls for a "road trip" to dallas this past weekend. We had a wonderful time. There were 7 of us and we stayed at the Westin in the Galleria and spent the weekend shopping/eating/drinking and wondering how they guys were doing with the kids!!!! Between workshops and girl trips I haven't been home much lately and Stephen has been the "PERFECT DADDDY"!!!!! Mimi & Buddy and Grandma & Robert have been really helping out too. I leave Friday for Dallas with a group of friends so I will be gone again. I just got home from Branson and the house was SUPER CLEAN!!!! Stephen got to experience everything including how to handle a sick child. This is a picture that Stephen sent me while I was gone....It is kinda hard to see, but it is a picture of Carly wrapped up in a dress with a caption that said..."How in the world do I get this dress on her".....I have to admit that I have been instructing Stephen on what clothes she needs to wear each day....I learned my lesson when he sent her to school with camoflauge bikini bottoms and a pink/purple bikini top for water day!!!! THANKS AGAIN DADDY!!!! CARLY & I ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE YOU!!!!!!!!

Grandma and Robert took us to an Arkansas Travelers game today!!!! The new stadium is beautiful. Carly LOVES watching baseball games and her favorite part was when two kids, dressed as bananas, ran around the bases. We are so excited to have the new stadium in NLR!!!!
